<rss version="2.0"><channel><title>License Activation Service (LAS) - Citrix DaaS Latest Topics</title><link>https://community.stage.citrix.com/forums/forum/1652-license-activation-service-las-citrix-daas/</link><description>License Activation Service (LAS) - Citrix DaaS Latest Topics</description><language>en</language><item><title>Citrix licensing with cloud (LAS) losing connection</title><link>https://community.stage.citrix.com/forums/topic/258670-citrix-licensing-with-cloud-las-losing-connection/</link><description><![CDATA[<p>Hi there,</p><p>I successfully registered my Citrix license server with Citrix Cloud.<br>The server side showed online activation successfull, and the server is showing on the cloud side.<br>Licenses are visible on the server.</p><p>My problem is, that after a few minutes the license server seems to lose connection with the cloud.<br>There is no status of online activation, it just offers the option to register with cloud again.<br>When I click the refresh button, it ends up in the spinning wheel with grey background.<br>I tried restarting the various licensing services and even the server, but none worked.</p><p>I already removed the cloud registration and started all over again, same behaviour after a bit of time.</p><p>This seems very unreliable.<br>Any suggestions?</p><p>Thanks a lot</p>]]></description><guid isPermaLink="false">258670</guid><pubDate>Thu, 08 Jan 2026 15:43:32 +0000</pubDate></item><item><title>Unable to install latest versions of Citrix Licensing (including LAS)</title><link>https://community.stage.citrix.com/forums/topic/258699-unable-to-install-latest-versions-of-citrix-licensing-including-las/</link><description><![CDATA[<p>Hi, </p><p>We are trying to install the latest version of Citrix Licensing that is required for LAS. </p><p>The installation is marked as failed although the Citrix Licensing is installed. However the licensing services are disabled (due to failed installation status I guess). We enable the services and notice that the Citrix Web Services for Licensing is unable to start (other services can start). </p><p>After some investigation, we found that if we disable the LAS module in the config file <strong>C:\Program Files (x86)\Citrix\Licensing\WebServicesForLicensing\Apache\conf\extra\Citrix-SLS.conf</strong>, the Citrix Web Services for Licensing is able to start (we put this line in comment: <em>LoadModule ctxlasclient_module modules/mod_ctxlasclient.so</em>).</p><p>When we disable the LAS module and start the service, we are then able to connect to the licensing manager console, and we can successfully register the license server with the cloud. Dynamics doesn't support an OS greater than Windows 2012 R2. We are currently migrating to SAP, but it will not be completed by April 15, 2026. We are fully on premise and looking to setup LAS in comming weeks.</p><p>We would periodically remove stale users eg who have left the business before the 90days default for citrix to delete on license server and wonder can this still be done once move to LAS or is there another option, or do license get freed up any sooner eg daily?</p><p>We often find ourselves close to max licensed users and dont want to run the risk of running out. Products and services activated with previous file-based license methods <strong>will not work after this date.</strong> <strong>We strongly recommend that you take action now to transition to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted experience.</strong></p><h5><strong>Required action</strong></h5><p>After April 15 2026, any Citrix product which is in scope of this transition and has not been migrated to LAS will be disrupted and will incur an outage. It only shows Activated data and the next month's expiration date. The License Server also only shows the total number of licenses and expiration date, but no current usage count like in the old version.</p><p>After researching further, I understand that it can be viewed at Citrix Cloud &gt; License &gt; Usage. However, when accessing it, it only shows the total count and usage as 0. Even after trying to upload updates from the License Server page multiple times to send the latest data, it remains the same. So, I don't know what the issue is.</p><p>I checked with relevant people, and Firewall is set to All open, so it shouldn't be blocked.</p><p>What I want to ask is:</p><ol><li><p>How can I check usage from Citrix Cloud?</p></li><li><p>How can I know if it's being used up to the purchased amount, since it can't be checked this way?</p></li><li><p>How can I check the logs to verify the actual cause of the problem that occurred?</p></li></ol><p>Thanks.<br>A.</p>
